Veteran Woman Business Owner Wins Emerging Entrepreneur Award

Indianapolis, (12/12/2019) — Andrea Sloan, President of GroundBreakers wins the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Emerging Entrepreneur Award at the annual Visionary Award Luncheon.  The award is presented to a NAWBO Indianapolis member under the age of 40 who represents the organization’s mission and vision in all facets of business ownership including innovative leadership and community involvement. Created in 2004, the Visionary Awards were established to honor Indianapolis’ successful and dynamic women business owners. 
 
Andrea Sloan is the owner of GroundBreakers, a non-destructive, precise hydrovac excavation services company based out of Indianapolis.  GroundBreakers’ mission is to safely and efficiently remove soil around buried utilities and underground structures. GroundBreakers has a large fleet of 12 vacuum trucks and has earned a reputation for delivering superior services with unrivaled safety, efficiency, and productivity.
 
Andrea is a born and bred Hoosier and grew up on the northeast side of Indianapolis.  She served in the United States Army Reserves while earning her degree from Indiana University.  She currently resides in Carmel, IN with her husband and two children. 
 
Andrea is an active member in NAWBO, National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Indiana Subcontractors Association, Indy Chamber, and the Indiana Construction Round Table Foundation.  She is laser focused on expanding GroundBreakers services offerings in Indianapolis and providing services in other states within the US.  Andrea is energized daily to work with the GroundBreakers’ team and excited about GroundBreakers’ future.
